This policy applies to the Stix mobile app and golfstix.net. Stix is a golf GPS, scoring, and live-events product. We collect only what we need to run those features and to offer a paid Stix Pro subscription.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, lease, or barter your name, email, scores, or location to data brokers or other companies for their own marketing. Stix makes money from the app (including Pro), not from selling golfers’ files. We do not send your personal information to advertising networks.

1. What we collect

• Account. Name, email, password or other login credentials, handicap-related inputs, and profile photo if you add one.
• Golf and social data. Scores, rounds, leagues, events, side games, and friends or connections you create or join.
• Location. Stix needs your location to show your distance to the green while you play. If you allow background / always location, Stix uses your location in the background during a live round so shot tracking and GPS logging continue when the screen is locked. You can deny location in iOS Settings; GPS features will not work.
• Microphone. Stix uses the microphone during a live round to detect club impacts and improve shot tracking, including while the phone is locked or in your pocket. Audio is analyzed on your phone. Raw recordings are not stored and are not sent to our servers.
• Device and diagnostics. Basic technical information needed to run and fix the app, such as device model, OS version, IP address, timestamps, and crash or error logs. We do not use this for ads.
• Notifications. A push token if you allow alerts (invites, events, and similar).

2. How we use it

We use this information to:

• Operate scoring, maps, GPS, leagues, and live multi-group events.
• Show you your own performance stats in the app (for example strokes gained and scoring history). That is a product feature, not an advertising profile.
• Manage accounts, process Stix Pro when it is offered, and keep the service secure.
• Send transactional mail you need for the account, such as password resets and important product notices.

3. Who helps us run Stix

We share data only with providers that process it on our instructions so the app works — not so they can buy your golf file:

• Supabase — hosting, database, authentication, and the emails Supabase sends for signup and password reset.
• Apple — App Store distribution and in-app purchases / Pro billing when those are enabled.
• Map providers (including Google) — course maps, satellite imagery, and distances. Plays-like yardage uses our elevation data, not a weather service.
• Google (Gemini) — optional round recaps. We send course name and round statistics (scores, strokes-gained numbers, GIR/FIR, and similar). We do not send raw GPS tracks, microphone audio, or your password.

If you join a live event, outing, or league, other people in that group can see your name, handicap-related info you share, and scores you post. That is how live scoring works. It is not a sale.

4. Guest links

A host can send a group invite link. Opening it can put you in that live match without a full account. Scores for that group are stored with the event. The link includes event and group identifiers so Stix opens the correct match.

5. This website

golfstix.net is a static marketing site. We do not set third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Invite URLs may include those event and group identifiers.

6. Your choices and deletion

Turn location and microphone off in iOS Settings. GPS and impact detection will stop.

You can permanently delete your account in the app: open Profile, then tap Delete Account. You can also email support@golfstix.net. We keep account and round history while the account is open. After deletion we erase personal account data as soon as practicable, except what we must keep for law, tax, or security, or scores that remain part of a group event others still need.

7. Children

Stix is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where that higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

If we change how we collect or use personal information, we will update this page and the date above. A material change will also be noted in the app or by email when we have an address for you. We will not start selling personal information without updating this policy and, where the law requires, asking you first.
